Dirty Laundry 2.0
Dirty Laundry 2.0 is a multilingual ensemble theatre production that weaves together stories of love, loss, longing, and belonging through song, poetry, movement, and spoken word. Performed in English, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, and Bengali, the production evolves from its original immersive incarnation in a Bandra home into a bold new stage adaptation with a fresh cast and richer tapestry of voices.
Meet gender-diverse neighbours living side by side, ghosts searching for a place to call home, an influencer who befriends the dead, a community langar that becomes an act of care, and fractured selves learning to coexist. Blurring the lines between the absurd and the deeply intimate, the play journeys through transgression, dissociation, desire, grief, and joy.
At its heart, Dirty Laundry 2.0 asks a simple yet profound question: What makes a home? Through interconnected stories that are both tender and surreal, the production invites audiences into a world where the personal becomes universal, and where home is something we build in, around, and with one another.

Director’s Bio
Gurleen Arora / The Mermellian (they/them) is a Mumbai based Non-Binary, Gender Fluid theatre-maker, drag performer, director, and Founder of MADsociety, a queer-led collective creating spaces for LGBTQIA++ communities through performance, events, and artistic collaborations.
From 2015–2020, they managed the Dharamshala Residential & International Festival for Theatre (D.R.I.F.T.) in Dharamshala (HP), while training and practising theatre, and curated d.r.i.f.t Reads, a community storytelling initiative centred around spoken performance and collective voice work.
Their work over the last several years has focused on queer, trans, and non-binary storytelling across theatre and drag. As a performer, they have appeared in The Vagina Monologues, their original ensemble work “Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea”, and the solo piece on NonBinary identity “Man Woman” that they performed at the Spoken Salon. Through drag, Gurleen explores storytelling, character creation, and identity, while actively facilitating workshops and mentoring emerging drag artists in performance, stagecraft, and narrative development.
As a director, Gurleen conceived and directed Dirty Laundry 1.0 and is now bringing Dirty Laundry 2.0 to the stage, continuing their commitment to creating performance work that centres trans and non-binary voices. They have also worked as a casting director and consultant on projects including Mix It Up (Disney+ Hotstar), Words of Pride (Star India), and Rainbow Rishta (Vice India/Amazon India), advocating for authentic queer representation both on and off stage/screen.
